The Los Angeles Rams went all-in this offseason, and they may not be done adding to their roster either, as Aaron Donald seems to be inching towards unretiring and returning to the team. Even if he doesn’t, though, Los Angeles can rest assured, because it still has Myles Garrett at its disposal.
L.A. swung a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns for Garrett this offseason after he broke the NFL’s single-season sack record. Garrett will go from one of the worst teams in the league to one of the best, and he figures to play a big role in helping the Rams in their championship pursuit. And while it may only be training camp, head coach Sean McVay‘s latest comments on Garrett will surely catch the attention of the rest of the NFL.
Sean McVay’s Latest Myles Garrett Comments Turn Heads
Garrett could have retired yesterday, and he would already go down as one of the greatest pass rushers in the history of the league. During his nine-season stint with the Browns, Garrett racked up 125.5 total sacks (including a single-season record 23 in 2025), which helped him earn seven Pro Bowl selections, five All-Pro First Team honors, and a pair of Defensive Player of the Year Awards.
While Cleveland boasted a strong defense in 2025, it was largely due to Garrett’s presence up front. Now, he will be joining a defensive line group that already featured a pair of stars in Byron Young and Kobie Turner. Add in the potential return of Donald, and this could be one of the most fearsome groups of all time.
It’s tough for defensive linemen to make much of a mark until the pads go on at training camp, but now that they have, Garrett is popping off the field. McVay couldn’t help but laugh when discussing a play from Friday’s session that saw Garrett beat a triple team from the offensive line, which has to be a scary proposition for the rest of the league to consider.
“Did you see, when we had the slide to him and a chip, and he had six hands on him and still found a way to win? That was freaky,” McVay said on “Inside Rams Camp.”

Los Angeles is finding out during training camp just how much of a problem its defensive line is going to cause for its opponents in 2026. Garrett commands double teams on pretty much every play, but the problem is that he can still get to the quarterback, and it also opens up the door for both Young and Turner to get one-on-one matchups that they can exploit.
The possibility of adding Donald into the mix could make this group borderline unstoppable, even though he hasn’t played football in over two years now. Sure, the Rams may have holes elsewhere on their defense (particularly at the linebacker position), but if Garrett and company can get to the quarterback quick enough, it may not even matter.
