Broncos Sign Undrafted WR Following Successful Tryout

The Denver Broncos are adding another wide receiver to their training camp roster following a string of injuries to standouts like Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle, and Marvin Mims Jr.

“Per source, Broncos are signing WR Kyre Duplessis, an undrafted rookie from Coastal Carolina and Delaware,” Broncos reporter Mike Klis wrote on his official X account on Friday. “Duplessis worked out Friday morning with three other receivers and won the audition … Duplessis broke out as a 5th-year senior for Blue Hens last year with 60 catches for 824 yds and 5 TDs. Broncos need WR camp depth with Waddle and now Mims gimpy and Sutton getting periodic leg rest.”

Duplessis, 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, spent a 6th and final college season at Delaware in 2025 after playing for Coastal Carolina for 5 seasons and was named All-Conference USA. He spent the 1st part of the summer with the Detroit Lions and had a brief stint with the Seattle Seahawks, where he was waived on August 5 and signed with the Broncos.

Broncos Might Have Breakout Star in 2nd Year WR

Duplessis will find a stacked wide receiver room that might be harboring a breakout star in 2nd-year wide receiver Pat Bryant.

Bryant had 35 receptions for 412 yards and 1 touchdown as a rookie but saw injuries derail his season down the stretch. He responded by adding about 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.

“Pat Bryant is taking over training camp,” David Talks Broncos said on his official YouTube channel on Thursday. “He’s been taking over that WR1 role for Courtland Sutton as he’s been having his vet days

“The team is grooming (Bryant) to transition into the X role for Courtland Sutton,” ESPN’s Zain Dhanani wrote on his official X account on August 5. “Take: I’ve said this since May — there’s always a chance Sutton takes a step back, turns an ankle, etc to open the door for Pat Bryant. Non-zero chance he takes over the X at some point this season.”

“Pat Bryant makes plays every damn day,” Broncos reporter Ryan Edwards wrote on his official X account on Thursday. “Clear WR3 to me.”
