For celebrities, things get much more ostentatious. Bunnie XO just made headlines for gifting herself a Rolls-Royce Cullinan to mark the end of her <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/bunnie-xo-said-jelly-roll-type.html/”>marriage to Jelly Roll</a>. Her settlement, reportedly around $6 million, apparently made the splurge a no-brainer for the podcaster. The $500,000 purchase made headlines, but she’s far from the only celebrity to splurge post-split. These celebrities made headlines for their lavish post-marriage purchases, too.</p>

<p id=”par-2_67″>Jennifer Lopez didn’t waste much time putting her divorce from Ben Affleck behind her. Two months after their split was finalized in January 2025, Lopez purchased an $18 million mansion near Los Angeles, according to property records. The move came after she and Affleck put their $68 million shared Beverly Hills estate on the market. They purchased the love nest together for around $61 million in 2023.</p>

Lopez made other real estate moves, too. She sold her New York City penthouse for $23 million on her birthday. In a bit of kismet, that sale went through the very same day Affleck closed on his own new $20.5 million Los Angeles home. The home she and Affleck shared is still on the market after <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/jennifer-lopez-is-still-trying-to-sell-her-megamansion-after-a-prominent-buyer-pulls-out.html/”>a sale fell through</a> earlier this month. The property is proving difficult to unload.</p>
<h2 class=”wp-block-heading” id=”h-adele-splurged-on-property”>Adele splurged on property </h2>
<p id=”par-4_59″>Adele’s post-divorce splurge came in the form of real estate, too. After her split from ex-husband Simon Konecki in 2019, the singer spent roughly $10 million on a new home not far from where she lived with Konecki. The purchase allowed her and her son, Angelo, to stay near the family life they’d built together while still starting fresh.</p>
<p id=”par-5_93″>It was one of several properties Adele picked up in the years around her divorce. She also bought a home for her mother and, later, the $58 million Beverly Hills mansion she now shares with boyfriend Rich Paul. Adele is notoriously quiet about her personal life, shielding her son from public life, but her post-divorce purchases still made headlines. <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/adele-divorce-details-secret.html/”>Konecki and Adele</a> finalized their divorce in 2021. She sparked dating rumors with Paul that same year, and announced her engagement to him in 2024. It’s unclear if they’ve actually said “I do,” though.</p>

<p id=”par-6_45″>Not every post-divorce splurge involves something newly purchased. When actress Ellen Barkin divorced billionaire Ron Perelman in 2006 after a six-year marriage, she walked away with a substantial settlement. She further lined her pockets by selling off jewelry she acquired from him during the marriage.</p>
