Pedestrian killed on 101 Freeway in Calabasas-Agoura Hills area

A pedestrian was killed early Monday morning in a crash involving a big rig on the 101 Freeway in the Calabasas-Agoura Hills area.

The crash was reported at 5:57 a.m. on the eastbound side of the freeway just west of Lost Hills Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded along with CHP officers, but the pedestrian could not be saved.

All eastbound freeway lanes were closed until about 6:45 a.m., when one lane was reopened.

Traffic was backed up to Chesebro Road as the morning commute got under way.


All lanes reopened about 9:20 a.m., according to the CHP.
