Snow plow driver critically injured in collision with Metra train in Bartlett

A man driving a snow plow was critically hurt during a collision with a Metra train Monday morning in northwest suburban Bartlett.

The crash happened sometime before 9:30 a.m. when outbound MD-W train #2205 struck the small snow plow near the Bartlett station, 120 E. Railroad Ave., Metra officials said.

The snow plow driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Saint Alexius hospital in Hoffman Estates where he was in critical condition, Bartlett fire officials said.


Inbound and outbound train service was restored as of 10 a.m., though trains may operate with extensive delays, Metra officials said.
