Two siblings were found apparently shot to death inside a home Thursday afternoon in southwest suburban Oak Lawn, police said.
Officers responded to a home in the 10000 block of South Maple Avenue around noon Thursday after a healthcare worker was unable to contact the residents inside the home, Oak Lawn police said.
After entering the home, the officers discovered the unidentified 72-year-old man and 78-year-old woman with apparent gunshot wounds, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
A gun was recovered and the shooting was said to be isolated, according to officials.
The investigation remains ongoing and autopsies are scheduled.
