Patriots’ Super Bowl Comeback Served as Blueprint for Bears Playoff Win Over Packers

Comeback wins have become a large part of the Chicago Bears’ identity this season, and according to Ben Johnson, the New England Patriots played a large part in that.

After the Bears erased a 21-3 deficit against the Packers on Saturday night, Ben Johnson admitted that during training camp, he showed the team Super Bowl LI, where the Patriots overcame a 28-3 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons to win.

And it helps that the Bears had two players who were quite familiar with this game, as Joe Thuney was a member of the Patriots at the time, while Grady Jarrett was on the Falcons.

“The one thing that we had done during training camp was we had shown the film of the Atlanta and New England (Super Bowl),” Johnson told reporters. “…We have two players on our roster that were part of both those teams. Grady (Jarrett) was with Atlanta and Joe Thuney was with New England. It was just great to get perspective from both of those players of how that game went down.

“I think it’s just a good lesson to be learned that it’s 28 to 3 in the middle of the third quarter, and yet the game still is being played, and there is a lot of time left.

“That was my message to the group. Just reminding them that this has been done before, and rather than saying, woe is me and oh, crap, we’re in a hole, it’s more, this is a great opportunity for us to turn this around into a game we’ll never forget, and that’s what they did.”

Julian Edelman Shares Important Message Ahead of Patriots’ Playoff Run

Ahead of the playoffs, Julian Edelman shared a few photos from his time over the years participating in the postseason with the Patriots. And with that, he shared a very important message to the players.

“You make your money in the regular season, you make your name in the post season. #PlayoffFootball,” Edelman captioned the post.

And many players commented.
“🔥🔥,” JuJu Smith-Schuster commented.
“Once upon a time…. 🐿️,” Robert Ninkovich wrote.
“Caption🔥🔥🔥,” DeMario Douglas said.

Julian Edelman Opens Up About What’s Impressed Him Most About Drake Maye This Season

Drake Maye has impressed a lot of people this season, and that includes Edelman.

“I think it’s his attitude. Just talking to people over there, everyone talks about how he’s so hungry to be coached, he’s so hungry to learn, and it translates into how he looks when he’s playing,” Edelman said on “The Herd.” “He looks so confident, he makes it look so easy. And I think his relationship with Josh McDaniels has been awesome.

“So I think his attitude is the one thing that stands out,” he added. “All these guys can throw the ball, all these guys can run the ball now, especially at that position. It’s the guys that are really wanting to dive into the academics of football, learning situations, learning, ‘all right, it’s third-and-6 in the red area let’s not throw an interception, let’s take the three points.’ And he’s shown that he’s got that calm, cool, collected attitude, and it’s been real fun to watch.”
