The Chicago Bulls are looking to totally reset the franchise. After the season ended, they fired former president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and GM Marc Eversley. Shortly after that, Billy Donovan decided to step away as the head coach.
Since that moment, Chicago has been trying to find a new person to lead the franchise. Whoever the Bulls hire will have full autonomy to hire a new head coach and create the roster in their image. Chicago has been stuck in the middle for the last few years now, and they want to change that.
According to a report from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bulls are close to naming a new man in charge and a new head coach.

The Bulls Are About to Name a New Man in Charge
According to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bulls are zeroing in on Matt Lloyd as the favorite to be the new president of operations. Lloyd would be the new man in charge of the Bulls and would run the organization as he sees fit. Cowley believes that he already has a name in mind for the new head coach, as well.
Cowley cites a source that believes that if Lloyd takes over, he would name Micah Nori as the new head coach. Nori currently works under Lloyd, who is the current GM of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Nori has been the lead assistant for the Wolves since 2021.
If the Bulls go this way, it would be turning to someone who has helped oversee a renaissance of a middling franchise. Lloyd has helped build the Timberwolves from a team that had been in the dregs of the NBA into a franchise that has made back-to-back Western Conference Finals.
While Lloyd has the lead for the job, Cowley makes it clear that there have been no decisions made yet. Chicago can still go a different way. There is still a chance that they will decide to bring in a different executive in charge.

Chicago has Several Big Decisions to Make This Summer
Whoever takes the job with the Bulls will have several big decisions to make. They have to figure out a roster that doesn’t have much to build around. Josh Giddey is the only guard they seem committed to long-term after signing him to an extension.
Where Chicago falls in the lottery will have major implications for what the new regime does over the next few years. The Bulls have the ninth-best odds to win the number-one overall pick in the draft. Landing a top-three pick could change the future of the organization.
Whoever ends up taking the big job in Chicago will have a tough road ahead of him. Figuring out the right contracts is key. They had the fifth-lowest payroll in the league this season. Jacking up the spending will be the best way for them to get back into playoff contention.
