Grass League is entering a pivotal phase of growth, and the fast-rising par-3 circuit is turning to experienced leadership to guide it forward. The league announced the appointment of Michael Prindiville as its new president, a move designed to accelerate both its competitive and commercial evolution.
According to the press release, in his new role, Prindiville will oversee all business operations and competition-related matters as the league continues to expand its footprint. The appointment comes at a time when Grass League has already established itself as one of the more innovative, and rapidly growing, properties in golf.
âGrass League is already an incredible spectator experience. I saw that firsthand at the Championships last December,â Prindiville said. âOur goal is to build on that foundation by becoming one of the most interactive leagues in golf â giving fans and brand partners the ability to actually impact the product through the broadcast, the fan experience, and even elements of the competition itself.â
A Vision Built on Fan Interaction and Innovation
Prindivilleâs vision reflects a broader shift happening across sports, where fan engagement is becoming just as important as the competition itself. His emphasis on interactivity signals that Grass League is aiming to blur the line between spectator and participant.
âElite sports will always be built around great competition,â he said. âBut the leagues that win over the next decade will be the ones that empower their communities to be part of the product.â
That philosophy aligns closely with Grass Leagueâs identity. Since its inception, the league has leaned into entertainment, accessibility, and digital-first experiences â offering a format that appeals to both traditional golf fans and a newer, younger audience.
Co-founder Jake Hoselton emphasized why Prindiville is the right fit at this stage.
âPrindi has built modern sports businesses at the intersection of media, fandom, and live experiences,â Hoselton said. âHis leadership, operating discipline, and understanding of how emerging leagues scale make him the right leader to guide Grass League into its next phase of growth.â
A Proven Track Record in Modern Sports Business
Before joining Grass League, Prindiville built an extensive resume across some of the most influential organizations in sports and media, including NBC Sports and Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment.
His experience spans teams, leagues, touring events, and digital-first platforms â an increasingly valuable background as sports properties evolve beyond traditional models. He has also worked with Sixth Street-backed ventures, giving him exposure to investment-driven growth strategies that could play a key role in Grass Leagueâs expansion.
That combination of operational discipline and forward-thinking strategy is exactly what the league needs as it scales both its audience and its franchise ecosystem.
Rapid Growth in Just Two Years
Grass Leagueâs growth trajectory has been striking. In just two years, the league has expanded to 11 franchises, with ownership groups that include professional athletes, PGA Tour players, and prominent golf content creators.
The numbers reflect that momentum. Franchise valuations have increased more than eightfold, while live event attendance has surpassed 15,000 fans. The league has also secured more than 10 brand partnerships, many with strong renewal rates.
On the competition side, demand continues to surge. Open qualifiers sell out within hours, underscoring the level of interest from players looking to break into the leagueâs unique format. Meanwhile, broadcasts on Golf Channel and expanding digital distribution have helped bring the product to a wider audience.
The 2026 season is set to begin on April 22.
