A police officer fired their gun in the South Chicago neighborhood Thursday, police said.
No officers were injured in the shooting, reported in the 8100 block of South Merrill Avenue, according to Chicago police spokesperson Tom Ahern.
It’s unclear who fired shots and if any civilians were injured.
The Chicago Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is investigating, as is custom for shootings involving police, the agency posted on X.
