The Denver Broncos could be close to full strength at just the right time.Â
As Sports Illustrated noted, Sean Payton offered an encouraging update on Denverâs injury situation heading into the Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills.Â
He told reporters, âI think we see most everyone back.â
Among the most notable names included in that optimism is linebacker Dre Greenlaw.
He has been working his way back toward full availability after being out since Week 16.Â
Coming off a first-round bye, the Broncos used the extra time to rest and reset a roster that had been banged up late in the season.
Paytonâs comments signal that Denver may enter Saturdayâs matchup healthier than theyâve been all season.Â
Dre Greenlawâs Return Has a Huge Impact
Greenlawâs potential return is even more meaningful given how little heâs been on the field.Â
The veteran linebacker appeared in just eight regular-season games, battling through multiple injuries that prevented him from ever fully settling into a rhythm.Â
However, when Greenlaw was on the field, his impact was huge.Â
He finished the regular season with 43 total tackles (15 solo), one sack, four tackles for loss, and an interception.Â
He flashed the physical, downhill style that made him a priority addition last offseason.Â
His best stretch came in midseason.Â
He posted back-to-back games with eight tackles and helped stabilize the middle of the defense during Denverâs winning streak.Â
The injuries limited his snap count and continuity, but they didnât diminish what he brings to the table.Â
The Bills will now have to prepare for Greenlawâs speed to the ball, his toughness, and even more importantly, his leadership.Â
If Greenlaw is finally healthy heading into the postseason, the Broncos could be getting a difference-maker back at exactly the right time.
Josh Allen to Play Trough Multiple Injuries
While Denver is trending healthier, Buffalo arrives with momentum but also some concerns.
The Bills are coming off a bruising Wild Card win that left multiple starters banged up.Â
They now face a short-week turnaround with the altitude effects.Â
Most notably, Josh Allen carries some injury concern as he endured multiple injury scares in the win over the Jaguars.Â
He absorbed a hard hit in the first quarter that briefly sent him into concussion protocol before he was cleared by an independent neurologist and returned to the game.Â
In the second quarter, Allen twisted his left knee on a touchdown run after being rolled up on.Â
He downplayed the issue afterward and finished the game.Â
He also took a shot to his throwing hand after striking a defenderâs helmet.
This caused visible discomfort but did not force him out of any action either.Â
Those issues come on top of a lingering right midfoot bone issue Allen has been managing for much of the season.Â
Despite all of these injuries, there is absolutely no doubt that Allen will play against the Broncos.Â
In addition to Allen, Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis was ruled out for the season today while Tyrell Shavers is also battling a knee injury.Â
While the Bills come in banged up, the Broncos come into this game the healthiest they have been all season.Â
