<p id=”par-1_43″>When <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/not-so-royal-andrew-mountbatten-windsor-treated-11-hours-under-arrest.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor</a> lost his regal titles and was evicted from Royal Lodge, his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, met the same fate as she was no longer allowed to use <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/why-is-sarah-ferguson-still-a-duchess-after-her-divorce-from-prince-andrew.html/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>the Duchess of York title</a> and had to leave their Windsor home as well.</p>
<p id=”par-2_100″>In October 2025, King Charles released a statement regarding the property Andrew and Sarah shared that read in part, “[Andrew’s] lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence. Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative private accommodation. These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him. Their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.”</p>
<p id=”par-3_36″>Sarah was not mentioned in the statement, but reports soon surfaced that Andrew would move to one of the king’s private residences in Sandringham and Fergie would need to arrange her own living accommodations. </p>

<p id=”par-4_50″>Sarah has been keeping a low-profile for months and her whereabouts were unknown until she was spotted checking into a remote Irish wellness retreat called the Ballyliffin Lodge & Spa in Donegal. She was also seen at the luxury $17,000-a-day Paracelsus Recovery Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland, from late December through January.</p>
<p id=”par-5_63″>Since neither of those places were long-term for Sarah, some thought that the former duchess would ask to live with her youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, who has a home outside the U.K. that could offer her mother privacy. But according to the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-15660849/Princess-Eugenie-Jack-Brooksbank-Andrew-scandal-Epstein.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a>, Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, did not even give Sarah the option to reside at their home in Portugal. </p>
<p id=”par-6_85″>One source explained that “Jack has worked very hard building his business, and it’s going well, so the last thing he needs is for the Epstein scandal to taint that.” Despite being “concerned about [Sarah’s] welfare,” Jack is “resisting any suggestion” that his mother-in-law seek refuge at their home. “His first loyalty has to be to his wife and their two young children. The whole sordid affair has already brought them a great deal of unwarranted attention, and he won’t do anything to increase that.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_62″>A friend of Sarah’s told the <a href=”https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/royals/article-15706347/sarah-ferguson-fergie-andrew-mountbatten-windsor-jeffrey-epstein.html” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Daily Mail</a> that she is currently staying somewhere that is like a castle and has an Italian count looking after her thanks to her ex, Count Gaddo della Gherardesca, whom she dated from 1997 to 1998 following her divorce from Andrew. The 86-year-old has a large estate in Tuscany and a ski lodge in the Swiss Alps.</p>
<p id=”par-9_54″>Fergie’s pal also shared that last month, she was lying low at the home of another ex namedPaddy McNally. The 88-year-old is a former racing driver and motorsports executive who was in a relationship with the former royal for three years before she married Andrew. He owns properties in Verbier and St. Tropez.</p>
