Golden State Warriors guard Brandin Podziemski notices when his name is being discussed by fans.Â
Podziemski, 23, has been a dependable young player for an erratic Warriors team cycling between promising and downright mediocre all year.Â
The team has been decimated by injuries this season. Fortunately, Podziemski has been one of the few available every night. But that has only intensified fansâ expectations of him.
The rising Golden State star has held up his end of the bargain since arriving in the Bay three years ago. He has increased his scoring output each season and has even given the franchise some hope for the future. Surely, heâll be at the forefront of the post-Stephen Curry Warriors.Â
Like many NBA youngsters, Podziemski has a fair ratio of dropping buckets on the court to dropping comments on social media. He is absolutely aware of what fans are saying about him

Understandably, the Bay Area fans have come to expect quite a lot. After all, they watched their team rattle off four titles in an eight-year span not long ago.Â
But with how the Warriors have looked of late, that absolutely feels long ago.Â
With so many big names out of the lineup, there have been more opportunities for some of the younger players to shine. Podiziemski is one of those players taking advantage.Â
He is averaging a career high in points and assists per game, but the rightfully audacious Warriors fans arenât quite satisfied.Â
Thereâs a social media trope that has gone viral in recent years. Perhaps you have seen fans posting a picture of a player with a caption saying they wonât post again until said player scores X points or does Y.Â
A fan posted a picture of Podziemski quite a while ago with the caption, âNot tweeting until Podz scores 30.âÂ

Bad news for that fan is that they have been waiting nearly 500 days.Â
Then another social media post by a Warriors fan account showed a graphic displaying the number of 30-point games recorded by the newly-acquired Kristaps Porzingis and Podziemski in a Golden State uniform. Both players have one, but one player has clearly been with the franchise much longer.Â
That post prompted Podziemski to drop a comment revealing his honest thoughts.Â

Podziemski remains vital piece for the Warriors this season
All jokes aside, the 23-year-old guard is a bright spot on the roster. He will be critical in the team lasting beyond 10 more games this season.Â
Golden State has nine games to go and at least another play-in game â unless it is somehow able to catch up to the eighth-seed, which will allow another play-in game in case the team loses its first.Â
As Curry gears up to make a healthy return to the lineup, Podziemski perhaps needs to look at himself as the dependable second-option.Â
While he may not be the second-best available player on the roster, he has been far more reliable in the games played department.Â
That isnât sheer luck. It takes hard work to be available every night.Â
Podziemski should channel that into some passionate play over these final regular season games.Â
