Two arrested in North Bay for ‘copious amounts’ of marijuana, prescription drugs after

Two people were arrested earlier this month on suspicion of multiple drug charges, including possession and intent to sell, in addition to felony reckless evading after a traffic stop.

According to officials from the Fairfield Police Department, on March 11 an officer from the department conducted a routine traffic stop on a vehicle and, upon speaking with the car’s two occupants, and encountering the vehicle’s interior, developed probable cause to search it.

“Upon learning the car would be searched, the driver – identified as 27-year- old Kristian Brenes – decided to lead officers on a pursuit,” read a release issued by the department.

Once the pursuit was underway, another Fairfield officer successfully deployed spike strips, and the vehicle stopped on Airbase Parkway, just before the eastbound Interstate 80 on-ramp, according to officials.

Brenes and her passenger, who was identified as 30-year-old Kyle Brenes, were both arrested.

“There was a copious amount of marijuana, prescription pills, and other properties indicative of narcotic sales located in the vehicle,” read the release.
