An investigation was launched in December after officers encountered a victim of human trafficking at a hotel, Redwood City police Lt. Nick Perna said in a news release.

Detectives identified the suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to Perna.

On Wednesday, Alameda County probation officers arrested the suspect. Perna said Redwood City detectives also searched his home, where they found evidence related to the alleged crime.

The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail in Dublin on charges of pimping and pandering.

“The Redwood City Police Department has a zero tolerance approach towards those who choose to victimize and traffic other people,” Perna said in the news release.
