F1 star Daniel Ricciardo makes an exciting announcement and fans react wildly

March 19, 2023 – 13:45 GMT Leanne Bayley Formula 1 star Daniel Ricciardo wows fans with new wine deal. Daniel recently teamed up with Australian wine brand St Hugo to bring his DR3 x St Hugo wine collection to the masses.

Daniel RicciardoInstagram followers are thirsty — literally. The 33-year-old racer shared the latest news from his wine company on Instagram on Saturday.

For those of you who don’t know, Daniel recently teamed up with Australian wine brand St Hugo to bring his DR3 x St Hugo Wine collection for the masses.

The F1 heartthrob alerted his 7.8million followers by posting a photo of himself pointing at the camera in a wine valley, and he captioned the post to say he’s “working on some fine wines ” have.

Vintages include a 2018 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon, the DR3 x St Hugo 2020 South Australia Shiraz and various other styles. You can also purchase a special Daniel Ricciardo wine carafe.

The Red Bull F1 team member first teased the new releases at a dinner following the 2022 Miami Grand Prix, telling guests that winemaking is a “real craft, just like our sport”.

“F1 is so detail specific and we break down every corner and path, so I partnered with our winemaker through all the steps it takes to make the perfect wine.”

The Australian native says it was actually stuck at home during the pandemic, which inspired him to make the DR3 brand work. The “3” is Ricciardo’s F1 starting number.

“[Winemaking] has always been something I was interested in, and the older I got and the more I started to travel, the more I gained a taste and appreciation for wine,” he said Rolling Stone. “I’ve also been very keen to let people know that racing isn’t everything I do. It’s my biggest passion, but I love so many other things and have other hobbies and interests. When Covid hit, I was like, ‘Okay, let’s see what we can do.’”

Daniel’s father inspired his love of wine, saying, “It was always part of growing up and it reminds me to be with my family and my father,” he shares. “It sounds silly, but wine was something for my dad and I to bond over, just like we bond over race cars. When he travels the world to see me race, we go out to dinner afterwards, talk about the wine list and it’s become another way for us to make memories together.”

The comments were very enthusiastic, mostly from female admirers. A follower wrote: “I don’t even drink wine, but I’ll buy whatever you want.”

Another wrote: “I mean, if you want to host Thirsty Thursday, all you have to do is ask.”

One of the funniest posts read: “He could sell toilet paper and I would buy it.”
