Regis Jesuit High School dedicated its swimming pool during a ceremony in honor of Missy Franklin, a 2013 alumna and six-time Olympic medalist Thursday afternoon, April 25, 2024.

According to a press release about the event from Regis Jesuit, “This year the school marks the 20th anniversary of the opening of its Girls Division and has been celebrating the Wisdom of Women as its theme, making the pool naming for an extraordinary alum whose character and achievements reflect the school’s mission and values especially fitting. Missy is the first female graduate to be extended such an honor.”

Members of Franklin’s family, her coaches and members of the 2023-24 Girls and Boys Swim & Dive teams were at the dedication ceremony, which included Missy presenting the school’s annual athletics award, named in her honor for a senior girl, this year for basketball standout, Hana Belibi. Also, the Missy Franklin ’13 Endowed Scholarship was announced thanks to a gift from fellow alum, John Sheridan, that will be awarded annually to a female student.

After the dedication ceremony, Franklin took part in a moderated Q&A assembly with the school’s entire school body and then attended a reception on campus.
