NHRA Winternationals finals canceled after rain, lightning and hail in Pomona

POMONA – Rain that started around 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by lightning and then hail, put a stop to racing at the Winternationals before the finals in the major classes could be run. After three rounds of eliminations, John Force and Justin Ashley were set to meet in Top Fuel final, Matt Hagan and John Force in the Funny Car final and Erica Enders and Dallas Glenn in the Pro Stock. Those finals were canceled at 4:10 p.m. and scheduled to be run at the next NHRA event in Phoenix in two weeks.
