Columnist John Phillips is way off in his declaration that Matt Mahan is the “anti-Gavin Newsom.” He, like a lot of Democrats, is hoping San Jose Mayor Mahan is the shiny new thing.
Mahan is not the “anti-Newsom“ that Phillips wants, he’s just California’s version of Beto O’Rourke. He’s a tall thin “cool guy“ who just gives Democrat talking point answers.
Mahan got destroyed in the California governor debate last night by Steve Hilton. Hilton crushed all the Democrats, because he actually gave common sense answers that provide solutions, not talking points and the same old pablum.
Steve Hilton is the actual “anti- Newsom.” Everyone watching the debate seems to agree. Hilton won every single poll question for debate viewers by having over 60% of the vote in every category.
Hilton had the best answer on affordability, homelessness, education and was polling over 60% on every issue, more than all six Democrats combined.
