The Denver Broncos are going to head into the upcoming 2026 NFL season as one of the top potential Super Bowl contenders in the AFC.
Last season, the Broncos made a run all the way to the AFC Championship Game. Unfortunately, they saw star quarterback Bo Nix go down with a season-ending ankle injury against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round.
When all was said and done, Denver came up short against the Patriots.
Despite the disappointment, the Broncos have a lot of positives to take away from last year. Denver is very close to winning another championship.
With that in mind, star pass rusher Nik Bonitto has urged the team to make a big move late in free agency to add to its defense.
Nik Bonitto Wants the Broncos to Sign Von Miller
Bonitto made his thoughts crystal clear about the team potentially signing Miller. He spoke out at a charity event on Wednesday night.
“Just to kinda be able to share a room with him would be amazing,” Bonitto said.
“I mean, obviously everybody would love that. Not only the fans, but the players. He’s a guy that’s loved here in Denver, so much.”
Fans feel the exact same way about a potential Miller reunion. He was the face of the defense for years between the 2011 season and 2021. Since leaving the Broncos, Miller has played for the Los Angeles Rams, Buffalo Bills, and Washington Commanders.
Watching Bonitto and Miller get after opposing quarterbacks would be entertaining, to say the least.
What Could Von Miller Bring to the Denver Defense?
At the end of the day, Miller is no longer the elite superstar that he was the last time he played for Denver. However, he is still capable of making an impact.
During the 2025 NFL season with the Commanders, the 37-year-old pass rusher played in all 17 regular season games. He racked up 26 total tackles to go along with nine sacks.
Miller isn’t going to be an every down player for whoever signs him. Instead, he’ll be better used in clear pass-rushing downs where all he needs to do is focus on racking up sacks.
That is a role the Broncos could offer him. More than anything, he would provide the team with elite depth on the defensive front. Teams with Super Bowl dreams need to have that kind of depth.
Expect to continue hearing rumors and speculation about Miller potentially returning to Denver. Ending his career where it started would be a fitting way for the eight-time Pro Bowler to ride off into the sunset.
