DAILY NEWS BASEBALL TOP 10

1. Harvard-Westlake (13-1-1 overall, 9-0-1 Mission League)

The Wolverines are unbeaten in the Mission League after a three-game sweep of Crespi last week. Harvard-Westlake scored two runs in the sixth inning to win on Wednesday after the Celts had taken a 5-4 lead after the fourth inning. They play at Chaminade Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

2. Calabasas (8-5, 2-1 Marmonte League)

The Coyotes made a statement when they beat Westlake in two out of three games in the opening week of Marmonte League play. They took Westlake to 10 innings and scored one run in the final frame to come out with a win Friday. Calabasas has the chance to prove itself again this week with a three-game series against Newbury Park.

3. Westlake (10-2, 1-2 Marmonte League)

The Warriors’ season started with a nine-game win streak before Calabasas handed them their first two losses. Will Kaczynski went 2 for 4 at the plate with two doubles for the Warriors in their 10-inning loss to the Coyotes on Friday.

4. Chaminade (11-4, 7-3 Mission League)

The Eagles beat Sierra Canyon twice before the Trailblazers won the third and final game of the series 7-5. Isaiah Hearn’s sixth-inning hit drove in Carter Bennett for the only run of the game in a 1-0 win over Sierra Canyon on Wednesday. They’ll be tested against Harvard-Westlake this week in a battle between the Mission League’s top two teams. They are home Tuesday vs. Harvard-Westlake at 3:30 p.m.

5. West Ranch (12-2-1, 6-0 Foothill League)

The Wildcats have yet to lose a league game and have outscored league opponents 52-11. Mikey Murr became the first West Ranch player to hit for the cycle in a 9-2 win over Saugus when he went 4 for 4 with three runs, five RBIs and a home run Friday. They play Tuesday at Valencia at 3:30 p.m.

6. Hart (15-3, 4-0 Foothill League)

Hart is also unbeaten in league play and is coming off a 21-0 rout of Golden Valley and a 16-1 win over Redondo. Hart will meet fellow unbeaten Foothill League team West Ranch on April 17 and April 19. Hart will be home Tuesday vs. Saugus at 3:30 p.m.

7. Sierra Canyon (9-6-2, 4-4-2 Mission League)

The Trailblazers rallied to beat Chaminade 7-5 on Friday in the final game of a three-game Mission League series. Greyson Gullage was 2 for 2 hitting with a run and three walks in the game. Andrew Nelson scored two runs and had two RBIs. Their next game is at Warren on April 2.

8. Burroughs (12-2, 5-1 Pacific League)

A seven-game win streak has the Bears in a groove and tied for second place in league. Burroughs picked up nonleague wins over El Camino Real, Excelsior Charter and La Cañada last week and will resume Pacific League play against Glendale this week. They are home Tuesday vs. Glendale at 3:45 p.m.

9. Notre Dame (8-6-1, 5-4-1 Mission League)

The Knights stopped a four-game losing streak by beating Alemany in three straight games last week. Notre Dame put up two runs in the eighth inning for a 5-3 win on Friday. Dominic Cadiz went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a home run, and Brody Thompson was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Levi Sterling pitched eight innings, gave up two hits and three runs and struck out nine. They are home Wednesday vs. Camarillo at 3:30 p.m.

10. Birmingham (9-3, 4-0 West Valley League)

This week’s schedule takes Birmingham to San Diego for a tournament. Jayb Dalumpines logged two hits, including a home run, and two RBIs in an 8-3 win over Taft on Friday.
