Woman fatally struck by car in Park Ridge

A 65-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car in northwest suburban Park Ridge on Saturday morning, according to the Park Ridge Police Department.

Katherine Baransky, of Park Ridge, was near the intersection of Cumberland and Peterson about 6:20 a.m. when she was struck by a car, police said. She was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where she later died.


No charges or citations have been issued, police said, but detectives are investigating.
