Ahead of their February 26 matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Minnesota Timberwolves were reported to have interest in signing the veteran forward, Kyle Anderson.
The 32-year-old veteran is reaching a contract buyout with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to ESPNâs Shams Charania.
For Anderson, it will be a reunion years after playing for the Timberwolves from 2022 to 2024.

Ahead of the 2024-2025 NBA season, Anderson was traded to the Golden State Warriors in a major six-team deal. He played in 36 games with the Warriors before getting included in a deadline trade to the Miami Heat.

With the Heat last year, Anderson appeared in 25 games. As a full-time reserve, he averaged 18.1 minutes on the court, producing 6.7 points while shooting 49% from the field.
Following the 2024-2025 NBA season, Anderson joined the Utah Jazz. He was included in a three-team trade between the Los Angeles Clippers, Jazz, and the Heat.
During the 2025-2026 NBA season, Anderson appeared in 20 games for the Jazz. He averaged 20.1 minutes of action, shooting 52% from the field. The veteran produced 7.1 points per game, while coming down with 3.3 rebounds, and dishing out 3.1 assists.
A Return To The Timberwolves

When Anderson entered the NBA, he was a late first-round pick out of UCLA for the San Antonio Spurs. He spent a few seasons with the Spurs before joining the Memphis Grizzlies.
Back in July 2022, Anderson signed with the Timberwolves. He played 148 games, starting just 56 of them. The veteran guard posted averages of 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists during his stint with the Wolves.
Both years, the Timberwolves made the playoffs. Anderson checked in for 19 games, producing 5.2 points per game in the postseason.
The Timberwolves have made some major changes since Andersonâs last go-round with the team. They are working on becoming the Oklahoma City Thunderâs biggest contenders.
Beyond OKC, the Western Conference is tight. The Timberwolves are 36-23 on the year, which places them fifth. The Denver Nuggets are right in front of them by 1.5 games. The Houston Rockets and the Nuggets have been flip-flopping spots lately.
The San Antonio Spurs have a commanding lead for the second seed. They are just 2.0 games behind the Thunder.
On Thursday, theyâll look to improve with a 10 PM ET matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers. Anderson isnât around to join the Timberwolves just yet, but he should be available soon enough.
