Stefon Diggs Reveals First Impression of Jayden Daniels After Joining Commanders

The Washington Commanders officially announced the signing of free agent wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Friday, and he joined his new teammates on the practice field more than a week into training camp.

Following practice, Diggs spoke to the media and shared his excitement about returning close to home while also getting the opportunity to team up with star quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Diggs Praises Daniels

The Maryland native was called Daniels “a superstar” while discussing his excitement for the upcoming season, which will be the 12th of his NFL career.

“It’s home. My family’s here, my support system is here. You know, I love everything about home and the organization,” Diggs said Friday. “They take care of their players… They got a great young quarterback. I’m familiar with young quarterbacks. He’s a star, he’s a superstar. I’m excited for him, excited for this team.”

Diggs Speaks on Commanders Offense

Diggs also discussed joining a Commanders offense that features star wide receiver Terry McLaurin, along with running backs Jacory Croskey-Merritt and veteran Rachaad White. He believes the group has enough talent to create problems for opposing defenses.

“It’s good being around other players that can ball,” Diggs said. “It’s going to be hard to double somebody in this offense. You’ve got guys that can make plays and guys that can make plays out of the backfield. You’ve got a mobile quarterback. The biggest thing for me is just my commitment to the game. I play outside, I play inside, a little bit of the backfield if they let me.”
