SAN JOSE – A 25-year-old San Jose man was arrested last week on suspicion of manufacturing illegal firearms, police said Tuesday.

Detectives identified and arrested the suspect on March 8 following a “thorough and comprehensive investigation into the manufacturing of privately made firearms” in the city, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release.
Hernandez said a search of the man’s home turned up three firearms, six machine gun conversion devices, a silencer, ammunition, firearm manufacturing materials and two 3D printers.
The 3D printers were used to manufacture illegal firearms for sale, Hernandez said.
The suspect was booked into Santa Clara County jail on multiple firearm-related charges. He remained in custody Tuesday on $250,000 bail, according to jail records.
