A cold front traveling across Colorado this afternoon will bring scattered to numerous showers, isolated thunderstorms with hail and snow in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service.
Showers will form late this afternoon and evening in northeast and north central Colorado. Isolated thunderstorms are also expected with small hail up to 1 inch in diameter possible and up to 4 inches of snow in the mountains, NWS forecasters say.
Denver will see a high of 70 degrees today with wind gusts up to 31 miles per hour and a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. this afternoon. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of 38 degrees and gusts up to 29 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation tonight is 60% with more showers and thunderstorms likely before midnight and a slight chance of showers between midnight and 2 a.m.
It will be mostly sunny Thursday with a high of 62 degrees and gusts up to 24 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation drops to 20% with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms that afternoon. Thursday night will hit a low of 41 degrees with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour and a slight chance of precipitation.

Friday will be mostly sunny with a high of 66 degrees and wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour. More storms may pass over the Denver area Friday morning with a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms before noon. Showers and thunderstorms may continue until 9 p.m. with a chance of showers between 9 p.m. and midnight and a low of 36 degrees.
Sunny weather will return to Denver on Saturday, NWS forecasters say.
South Park and the southern foothills might see elevated fire weather conditions Thursday afternoon. Several small storms will bring light snow to the mountains and scattered showers to the foothills and plains Friday through Sunday.
