On Saturday night, the San Francisco Giants will continue their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates at Oracle Park.
They are coming off a 5-2 win on Friday.
Ahead of Saturday’s game, the team announced that they had made a trade with the Cleveland Guardians.
The Giants (wrote via X): “The #SFGiants and Cleveland Guardians completed a trade, with LHP Matt Wilkinson joining the Giants and San Francisco receiving the Guardians’ 29th overall pick in the 2026 draft (Competitive Balance Round A) in exchange for C Patrick Bailey.”

Following the trade, Ari Alexander of 7News Boston WHDH reported that the Giants are calling up a player from Triple-A.
Alexander wrote: “Source: The #Giants are calling up C Logan Porter. Porter will immediately fill the spot left by traded catcher Patrick Bailey.”
Porter has spent part of two seasons in the MLB with the Kansas City Royals (and Giants).
He is coming off a season where he appeared in four games for the Giants.
Right now, Porter is batting .179 with seven hits, two RBI’s and six runs in 12 Triple-A games.

The Giants have gone 15-23 in 38 games, which has them at the bottom of the National League West.
