Rams Named Top Landing Spot For $97.5 Million All-Pro

The Los Angeles Rams allowed more than 800 passing yards in the three playoff games combined, which contributed to the team’s exit from the postseason.

Sam Darnold had 346 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes in the NFC Championship, which was the quarterback’s best performance with the Seattle Seahawks this season.

The Rams were in the bottom half of the league in terms of average pass yards allowed per game, allowing 216.7 yards per game.

Looking ahead to the 2026 season, Los Angeles needs to add a major presence to the secondary that can match up against opposing teams’ number one receiving target.

Getting Help In The Secondary

There aren’t any too high-profile names the Los Angeles Rams could add in the 2026 free agency that will shape the future of the cornerback position, but they could use some assets to acquire one in a trade.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox believes the Rams are a top landing spot for Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey.

“[Humphrey’s] future with the Baltimore Ravens is uncertain after the team missed the playoffs and replaced head coach John Harbaugh with Jesse Minter,” Knox wrote. “The issue for Humphrey is the fact that he’ll turn 30 in July and is set to carry a cap hit of $26.3 million in 2026, the final year of his contract. Cashing in Humphrey a year before he hits the open market could make some sense for the Ravens.”

“While Humphrey was part of a bad defense in 2025, his status as a former Pro Bowler will likely draw interest from several cornerback-needy teams… The Los Angeles Rams, whose secondary struggled in the NFC Championship Game, might be near the front of the line to take a flier on Humphrey. Much will depend on whether Matthew Stafford is back for another run, but if he is, L.A. may go all-in on chasing a championship next season.”

The cornerback has been one of the better players at his respective position since being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, having been a four-time Pro Bowl and two-time first-team All-Pro through his 9-year career.

Humphrey registered 68 tackles, 13 pass deflections and 4 interceptions in the 2025 season, receiving a 49.9 overall grade this season, including a 42.9 pass grade from Pro Football Focus.

Knox’s trade package for Humphrey includes the Rams giving up a 2026 4th-Round Pick, a conditional 2027 6th-Round Pick.

Adding Marlon Humphrey for a couple of Day 3 picks doesn’t sound too bad for the Los Angeles Rams.

The Baltimore defender has recorded double-digit pass deflections in seven of the nine seasons he has played. Humphrey has recorded 10 interceptions in the last two seasons combined, with one being returned for a touchdown.

Humphrey has registered 17 forced fumbles throughout his career and can get after the opposing back, too, logging 7 sacks.

The nine-year vet has more than 500 career tackles, with over 400 of those coming as a solo tackler.

The cornerback is an all-around defender who can help in more ways than one, which is something the Rams defense needs after allowing 31+ points in two of the playoff games.

Marlon Humphrey is in the latter stages of his career, but he is still holding strong and could get his first Super Bowl ring in Los Angeles.
