A pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run Saturday morning in San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The woman was hit at 6:20 a.m. and died after being taken to the hospital, authorities said. San Jose police remained on the scene as of about 8:15 a.m.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area and North Capitol Avenue was expected to be closed from Longford Drive to Camino Del Rey for several hours.
