New York Yankees Announce New Roster Move Before Red Sox Game

On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees will be back at Fenway Park for the second game of their series with the Boston Red Sox.

The Yankees are coming off a 4-0 win on Tuesday.

Giancarlo Stanton led the way with one home run and three RBI’s.

Before Wednesday’s game, the Yankees announced that they had made a new roster move.

The Yankees wrote (via X): “Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves: • Placed LHP Ryan Weathers on the paternity list. • Recalled RHP Jake Bird (#59) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

Bird’s Career

Bird spent the first three and a half seasons of his career playing for the Colorado Rockies.

He is in his second season on the Yankees.

This year, Bird has gone 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA in eight games.
