On Saturday night, the New York Yankees will play the Astros for the second game of their series in Houston.

The Yankees will look to keep the momentum going, as they are coming off a 12-4 win on Friday.

Jazz Chisholm Jr. led the team with three hits, one home run and four RBI’s.

Before Saturday’s game, the Yankees announced a new roster move.

The Yankees wrote (via X): “Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves: • Reinstated LHP Ryan Weathers (#40) from the paternity list. • Placed RHP Angel Chivilli on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 4/23) with right shoulder discomfort.”

Weathers is in his sixth MLB season (and first playing for New York).

He is currently 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA in five games this season.

Before the Yankees, the 26-year-old had stints playing for the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres.

Over 75 career games, Weathers is 13-25 with a 4.77 ERA.

Greg Joyce of The New York Post wrote: “Yankees roster move: Angel Chivilli goes on the IL with shoulder discomfort, meaning Jake Bird sticks around with Ryan Weathers coming off the paternity list to start tonight.”

Meanwhile, Chivilli is also in his first season in New York.

He has a 3.86 ERA in two games.

Before the Yankees, the 23-year-old spent two seasons with the Colorado Rockies.
