The New York Yankees did not play on Thursday due to an off day. They lost their last series to the St. Louis Cardinals, but open up a new series against the Atlanta Braves in a highly anticipated matchup in Interleague play (at home).
The Braves come into this series winners of their last eight games, and New York is 5-5 in its last 10 contests.
New York will send ace Max Fried to the mound to face his old squad. Before the Braves game, the Yankees revealed their lineup for the series opener, and it features a slight Jazz Chisholm Jr. tweak.

The Atlanta Braves are sending Tyler Mahle to the mound to make his team debut with the team.
On Friday evening, Jazz Chisholm Jr will bat fifth and play 2B.

The Yankees lineup is packed with lefties due to the RHP Mahle going for the Braves.

Looking at Chisholm Jr. This Season

Jazz Chisholm Jr. has bounced in and out of the Yankees lineup this season, but he is pretty much a mainstay against right-handed starters.
He is set to enter free agency after the season, and as of now, it appears unlikely that the Yanks will ink him to a new deal. Chisholm Jr. is batting .217 over 378 at-bats with 17 home runs, 47 RBI, and 54 runs scored.
In 2025, Chisholm Jr. hit 30 home runs and stole 30 bases. He’s unlikely to reach those marks this season, but it’s still been a productive campaign for Jazz.
