For Friday’s game, the Yankees have announced their starting lineup.
Underdog MLB wrote: “Yankees 5/15 T. Grisham CF B. Rice 1B A. Judge RF C. Bellinger LF J. Chisholm Jr. 2B R. McMahon 3B S. Jones DH A. Volpe SS A. Wells C C. Schlittler SP”
Despite his struggles on Wednesday, Volpe remains the starting shortstop (and batting eighth) on Friday.
The 25-year-old was recently called up after Jose Caballero got injured.
The Yankees wrote (via X) on May 12: “Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves: • Placed INF/OF José Caballero on the 10-day injured list with a right middle finger fracture. • Recalled INF Anthony Volpe (#11) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”
In the Minor Leagues, Volpe had been batting .221 with 15 hits, one home run, eight RBI’s, 11 runs and four stolen bases in 18 games.

The Yankees have struggled over the last week, going 1-5 in their last six games.
That said, they are still the second-place team in the American League East with a 27-17 record in 44 games.
After three games with the Mets, the Yankees will return to the Bronx for a series with the Toronto Blue Jays that starts on Monday night.
