Before Sunday’s win, the Yankees announced that they had made a trade with the Houston Astros.

The Yankees wrote (via X): “The New York Yankees today announced that they have acquired minor league right-handed pitcher Wilmy Sanchez from the Houston Astros in exchange for INF Braden Shewmake.”

Shewmake was the 21st pick in the 2019 MLB Draft.

He has spent part of two MLB seasons (31 games) with the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox.

They will play their next game on Tuesday when they visit the Boston Red Sox.

They will play the Cleveland Guardians on Monday night in Ohio.
