The New York Mets have played 14 games this season, and are 7-7. After a hot start, the Mets have now lost three in a row after being shut out by the Athletics, and have scored just three runs in their last 27 innings.
There’s too much baseball left to be played, but with Juan Soto on the Injured List and a reeling Mets offense, you don’t want trendy things like a stagnant offense to continue. The Juan Soto loss is obviously huge, but Francisco Lindor has struggled out of the gates, and people across the baseball world, including Mets fans, of course, are noticing.

Francisco Lindor Has Struggled to Start the 2026 Season
Francisco Lindor broke his hamate bone a couple of weeks before the season, which is a known injury that has limited a hitter’s ability to return with their previous power until the bone is fully healed.
Lindor may have rushed the injury a bit to be ready for the Mets’ Opening Day.
So far, Francisco Lindor has just nine hits on the season, no runs batted in, and no home runs.
It’s certainly a development to watch, but again, it’s early in the season.
That reason, however, has not stopped a rash reaction on social media.
