Miami Heat Make Norman Powell Announcement Before Spurs Game

On Monday evening, the Miami Heat will host the San Antonio Spurs in Florida.

The Heat are coming off a tough 123-122 loss to the Houston Rockets.

Norman Powell did not play in the game.

For Monday’s game, the Heat have announced that Powell will be listed as questionable.

Zachary Weinberger of ClutchPoints wrote: “Latest Heat injury report has Andrew Wiggins (toe) and Jaime Jaquez Jr. (hip) both upgraded to PROBABLE for tomorrow night vs. Spurs.

Norman Powell is QUESTIONABLE w/ left calf tightness.”

Powell is in the middle of his first season playing for Miami.

Last month, he made his first career All-Star Game.

Right now, the 32-year-old is averaging 22.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per contest while shooting 47.3% from the field and 38.4% from three-point range in 52 games.

Powell was the 46th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of UCLA.

He has also had stints with the LA Clippers, Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers over 11 seasons.

His career averages are 13.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest while shooting 47.1% from the field and 39.7% from three-point range in 669 games.

Heat Ahead Of Spurs Clash

The Heat are currently in a slump, as they have lost four games in a row.

That said, they are still having a good season with a 38-33 record in 71 games, which has them as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference.

Currently, the Heat are only 1.0 games back of the Atlanta Hawks for sixth.

Following the Spurs, the Heat will head back on the road to visit James Harden and the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night in Ohio.
