Grammy Award winner Meg the Stallion and four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson are no longer America’s darling couple.
Meg on Saturday accused Thompson of cheating. The “Hot Girl” rapper shared a list of reasons things went south on her official Instagram account.
In addition to cheating, Meg hinted that Thompson had no intention of marrying her.
“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet.’ Holding you down through your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season,” the singer wrote in her Instagram story. Now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous’???? … I need a REAL break after this one… bye y’all.”
The Houston-born lyricist told TMZ, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship. When those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Klay and Meg Became an Instant Power Couple
Last summer, Meg and Klay began dating publicly, but the MTV Award winner said their high-profile romance began earlier.
“We met and it was such a meet cute,” Megan told People in July. “I won’t tell you how and I won’t tell you when, but it was a movie,” adding that “he’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life.”
The esteemed couple instantly gained favor in the public eye. Meg was seen courtside at several Mavericks games and gifted Thompson a nautical-themed chain with a boat steering wheel pendant for the 2025-26 season opener.
The pendant commemorated the beginning of Thompson’s 15th NBA season.
During the All-Star break, Thompson treated the “Body” artist to a tropical getaway and a brand-new baby blue luxury vehicle.
Internet Slams Thompson For Cheating Allegations
“He’ll regret doing that to Meg,” a user commented.
“Imagine cheating on women this beautiful,” one user wrote.
During their roughly nine-month relationship, Klay and Meg had become a cultural power couple.
“Damn, I thought Klay was one of the good ones,” a user replied.
Klay Has Yet to Apologize
So far, Klay has not publicly addressed the situation. Though Meg has already confirmed the split with TMZ reporters, Klay has essentially been off the grid since the Mavericks’ season ended without a playoff berth.
Despite being gifted a dazzling pendant for the season opener, Thompson had a meager season with Dallas.
The five-time All-Star played in 62 games but only made eight starts. As the Mavs’ sixth man, playing primarily against reserves, Thompson averaged 11.7 points.
His 38 percent three-point clip and 39 percent field goal clip were both career lows.
With the Mavericks shifting towards a rebuild around No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, the 36-year-old Thompson projects to be a trade chip this summer. Thompson has been linked to the Lakers and previously revealed that he signed with the Mavericks to play with Luka Doncic.
Even if he remains in Dallas, the frequent Meg the Stallion courtside appearances at American Airlines Center are likely a thing of the past.
