A man was shot in the head and left in critical condition late Tuesday near 31st Street Beach in the Douglas neighborhood.
Chicago police said the man was found at about 11:35 p.m. along the 700 block of East 31st Street where police administered aid until Chicago Fire Department personnel arrived and took him to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
No arrests were made.
Area 1 detectives are investigating.
