Man arrested after 19 ‘severely neglected’ dogs seized in Greater Grand Crossing

At least 19 “severely neglected” dogs were recovered and a man was arrested Thursday morning in Greater Grand Crossing, according to Chicago police.

Officers served a warrant in the 7100 block of South Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at 8:11 a.m. where a total of 19 dogs “in varying degrees of severe neglect” were found. The dogs were transported for evaluation by Chicago Animal Care and Control, police said. A 32-year-old man was arrested at the scene.


Chicago Animal Care and Control didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
