The Los Angeles Dodgers might be welcoming starter Blake Snell to the rotation soon. Snell has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him out for the entire 2026 season.
As Blake Snell continues to rehab, the Dodgers are taking on the San Francisco Giants in a three-game series. Los Angeles lost 3-1 on Tuesday night, but look to bounce back on Wednesday night with Shohei Ohtani on the mound.
As the Dodgers take on the Giants, Blake Snell will begin his rehab assignment with the Dodgers Single-A affiliate, Ontario Tower Buzzers. The game is being held in San Jose.

If Blake Snell’s shoulder isn’t bothering him after a couple of rehab starts, he should join the Dodgers rotation shortly after. He’s not an MLB starter that needs a lot of time in the minors, but he’ll likely go on a Dodgers’ minor league victory lap tour, and Dodgers fans across the multiple affiliates will enjoy seeing Blake Snell pitch.

Blake Snell is currently on a five-year, $137 million contract. He delivered in a big way during the 2025 MLB playoffs. He missed several months of that regular season, but came back very strong and led the pitching staff (along with Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani).

Blake Snell has only been a Dodgers pitcher for one and a half seasons, but the Los Angeles faithful has grown to enjoy his starter tendencies in the early going.
Over 11 starts last season, Snell boasted a 2.35 ERA over 61.1 innings with 72 strikeouts.
The Dodgers fanbase has grown to know Blake Snell over the years. He won a Cy Young with the San Diego Padres and also pitched with the San Francisco Giants before joining the Dodgers.
He’s won the ERA title twice, but like any tenured MLB pitcher, he needs his time off to rest his shoulder and arm muscles.
Snell turned in performance after performance during the MLB playoffs last season, and he’s typically been a pitcher who needs some time to ease into the flow of things. The month of April basically acts as his spring training.
