Lindsey Vonn Completes Training Run One Week After Her Crash

On Friday, February 6, the 2026 Winter Olympics is in full force. It’s not just the Opening Ceremony, either, which airs on NBC starting at 2 p.m. A handful of winter events are already underway, including one involving Olympics alpine skier Lindsey Vonn.

So, was Vonn able to complete her first training run and stay on track to appear in the 2026 Winter Olympics?

Lindsey Vonn Injury Update

Vonn successfully went through her first training run on Friday, February 6, marking her first run since rupturing the ACL in her left knee. She was all smiles at the event and flashed a smile to the crowd as she came down the finish line. In more good news, Vonn skied through her 100-second run without problems.

Vonn being able to make it down the course in Cortina safely is a huge sign that things are trending in the right direction for her. It was just one week ago at a World Cup race that the skier lost control coming off a jump on a course in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, and had a scary crash, which resulted in an ACL injury.

Vonn’s injury isn’t the same knee that required major surgery in 2019. At the time, Vonn retired due to the injury, but she announced a comeback in 2025.
