Meet local officials
The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is hosting a meet and greet with local appointed and elected officials on Sunday, March 10, 2:30-4 p.m., at BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, 10690 N. De Anza Blvd. in Cupertino.
Santa Clara County Supervisor Cindy Chavez is expected to attend, along with Graham Clark, superintendent of the Fremont Union High School District, and Pamela Wu and Kent Steffens, city managers for Cupertino and Sunnyvale, respectively.

Growing readers
The Sunnyvale Public Library on Feb. 14 opened its early learning hub, A Sunny Place for Growing Readers. This space is designed to help build a foundation for early literacy, lifelong learning and academic success. Young children are encouraged to learn through play.
The early learning hub contains toys, books, puzzles, a sensory light wall and building blocks. This space is intended for infants to children age 5 and was made possible by funding administered by the California State Library. ArtNow entrants
Two Fremont High School students had artwork selected for ArtNow, the annual juried exhibit at New Museum Los Gatos for Santa Clara County high school students.
Works by juniors Tara Krishna and Linda Wang were chosen from over 800 submissions from high school students across the county. The exhibit will be on display March 22-June 30.
Students were asked to create works around the theme “In Transition,” highlighting the journey from childhood into adulthood that teenagers take. Students can win scholarship money and awards in the categories of painting, mixed media, printmaking, sculpture, photography, digital art and video or animation.
