Jeannie Mai accuses rapper Jeezy of physical abuse amid acrimonious divorce

TV personality Jeannie Mai has alleged rapper Jeezy physically abused her multiple times during their marriage, according to court documents filed Thursday.

Mai, 45, made the accusations in legal papers as part of the couple’s bitter divorce and fight for custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Monaco, TMZ reported.

The documents, obtained by the outlet, argued that Monaco would not be safe in Jeezy’s custody because of his abusive and reckless behavior.

Jeezy, 46, denied the allegations in an Instagram post.

“The allegations are not only false, but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved,” he wrote. “This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play.”

In the documents, Mai claims that in January 2022, the same month Monaco was born, Jeezy punched her in the face while they were sitting in a car, E! News reported.

She also said that in April 2022, Jeezy choked her from behind while she was walking up a staircase at the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco, then threw her down the stairs, according to TMZ. Hotel security allegedly intervened and took a report, which she also included in the documents.

In another incident, Mai said Jeezy was drunkenly driving a golf cart, which he then crashed, TMZ reported. In the court docs, Mai included several pictures of injuries that she attributed to the crash, as well as screenshots of text messages in which Jeezy allegedly apologizes for putting her “in danger.”

Mai has also previously argued she felt Monaco was unsafe around Jeezy, claiming he left firearms in easily accessible locations.

Mai and Jeezy, whose legal name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, married in March 2021 and welcomed Monaco in January 2022. However, Jeezy filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia in September of last year.

The two have since been battling for custody of Monaco. In a December filing, Mai accused Jeezy of cheating on her, which he also denied. According to Mai, their prenup imposes “significant financial penalty” if one of them cheats on the other.
