They lost by a score of 6-1.

On Sunday afternoon, the Giants will look to avoid getting swept.

Ahead of their series with the Cubs, the Giants announced an update on Tyler Mahle.

He has been out of action since May 26.

MLB.com wrote (on June 12): “Threw a simulated game on June 9. Scheduled to make a rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento on June 14. 

According to the site, he still supposed to return in June.

It’s worth noting that the Giants are paying Mahle a lot of money this season.

He is making $10 million for 2026 (and will become a free agent over the offseason).

Jon Heyman of The New York Post wrote (on January 1): “Tyler Mahle Giants deal: $10M guaranteed.”

Mahle has gone 1-7 with a 6.04 ERA in 11 games this season.

Mahle was picked in the 7th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.

He spent the first 5.5 seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Reds.

Following the Reds, Mahle had stops with the Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers (before the Giants).

Over 153 career games, Mahle has gone 40-53 with a 4.21 ERA.

He has spent part of 10 seasons in the MLB.

The Giants are currently the fourth-place team in the National League West with a 28-43 record in 71 games.

Following the Cubs, the Giants will visit the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night at Truist Park.
