Giants Sign 6-Foot-9 Offensive Lineman After 2026 NFL Draft

The 2026 NFL Draft is in the books, and the New York Giants were one of the busiest teams in the league. Armed with four top-100 selections, including a pair of top-10 picks, the Giants have further added to their young core of budding stars on their roster, giving them a real shot at taking a big step forward when they return to action.

While linebacker Arvell Reese and offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa headlined the team’s selections, New York remained active in the wake of the draft on the undrafted free agent market. That resulted in the front office bringing a giant 6’9 offensive lineman to town to work as a developmental prospect behind Mauigoa.

Giants Sign Dodji Dahoue as an Undrafted Free Agent

Mauigoa, who entered the draft being viewed as a surefire top-10 pick, ended up falling to New York at the No. 10 selection, and he figures to slot into the team’s starting offensive line configuration immediately. While Andrew Thomas and Jermaine Eluemunor currently fill the tackle spots, Mauigoa could find a home at the right guard position.

Having depth at the tackle position certainly doesn’t hurt, especially when the player you are bringing to town is a giant himself. That is the case for Eastern Michigan Eagles offensive lineman Dodji Dahoue, who didn’t hear his name called during the draft. Given his enormous frame, teams quickly began pursuing him on the undrafted free agent market.

Dahoue is still a very raw prospect, but the upside that comes with standing at 6’9 is tough to ignore. If Dahoue’s talent can be properly developed, he could turn into one of the most physically imposing offensive linemen in the league. With that in mind, New York managed to scoop up Dahoue as an undrafted free agent shortly after the event concluded on Saturday night.

“Eastern Michigan OL Dodji Dahoue signed as a UDFA with the Giants, per source. Dahoue is 6-foot-9,” Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reported in a post on X.

New York already did good work along its offensive line by bringing Mauigoa to town, and it also scooped up another offensive lineman (Illinois Fighting Illini tackle J.C. Davis) in the sixth round of the draft. When you have the opportunity to bring a unique prospect to town as an undrafted free agent, though, those are the sorts of guys teams are often looking to take fliers on after the draft concludes.

There’s no guarantee that Dahoue will pan out, but if he does, he could become a star, which is why it’s worth investing in him. At best, Dahoue will probably be aiming to earn a spot on the practice squad during training camp, but with a suddenly crowded offensive tackle depth chart, he could face an uphill battle. Still, it’s encouraging to see New York is still hard at work, even though the draft is now in the rearview mirror.
