Before Tuesday’s game, the Blue Jays announced that they had made a trade with the Chicago White Sox.

To make room, RHP Shane Bieber has been transferred to the 60-day IL.”

Here’s what people were saying about the news:

Thomas Hall: “#BlueJays acquire additional infield depth in Sosa, who’s out of options and comes with 5 seasons of MLB experience. Transferring Shane Bieber to the 60-day IL doesn’t change anything with his status. It simply opens up a 40-man spot.”

Mitch Bannon: “The #BlueJays announce they’ve traded for infielder Lenyn Sosa from the White Sox for minor-league outfielder Jordan Rich and a PTBNL/cash. Sosa was a league-average hitter last year, hitting 22 homers for the White Sox. Can play 2B, 3B, 1B.”

@JoshuaHowsam: “That’s fascinating. Guarantees Bieber is out until late May, but does give them a RH bat. Assuming Tyler Fitzgerald to the minors (who somehow never got into a game)”

@Oakvillejaysfan: “He hit 22 home Runs last year !”

@AveryChenier: “22 homers last year, plays all over the infield and has hit lefties. It’s a little interesting at least!”

@TodayJays: “Lenyn Sosa has flexibility and should be able to help boost this lineup He’s off the a slow start this year, but last year he was solid (.727 OPS) It’s not going to fix the injury issues, but this is a start for sure”
