Football recruiting: CU Buffs land Charlotte transfer, two prep recruits

Another piece to the puzzle on defense is on the way and Colorado’s 2025 football recruiting class is coming together.

On Saturday, former Michigan and Charlotte linebacker Nikhai Green-Hill committed to the Buffaloes. In addition, two high school prospects announced their verbal commitments to the Buffs and head coach Deion Sanders.

Listed at 6-foot-2, 230 pounds, Green-Hill had 73 tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble last year at Charlotte, his only season with the 49ers.

Prior to transferring to Charlotte, Green-Hill spent three seasons at Michigan. He made six starts in 2021, racking up 50 tackles, but missed the 2022 season with injuries.

Three-star tight end Corbin Laisure (Bluff City, Tenn.) and three-star linebacker Mantrez Walker (Buford, Ga.) also gave their pledges to the Buffs.

CU now has three players committed for 2025, including four-star cornerback Alex Graham, who gave his pledge on Friday.

The 6-5, 215-pound Laisure caught 64 passes for 774 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior last fall at Sullivan East High School. As a sophomore, he caught 30 passes for 419 yards and four touchdowns. In basketball, he averaged 16.1 points and 11.2 rebounds per game.

A three-star prospect by 247Sports, Laisure has 14 scholarship offers, including from Arizona State, Louisville and Syracuse.

Walker, listed at 6-1, 225, had 54 tackles and four tackles for loss at Buford High School last season. Rated as a three-star by 247, Walker has 28 scholarship offers, including from Miami, Michigan, Mississippi and Stanford.
