Felony kidnapping suspect arrested after pursuit from Fairfield to Rio Vista

One man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of felony kidnapping and other on related charges following a domestic violence incident that began at a Fairfield park but led law enforcement on a pursuit to Rio Vista.

According to Rio Vista Police Department officials, their dispatch center was notified just after noon on March 28 that a suspect in a domestic violence incident was last seen heading toward the city on State Route 12.

“The suspect was reported to have assaulted a woman in a Fairfield park before dragging her into a car and speeding off,” read a release issued by Rio Vista police. “Fairfield police officers chased the suspect, who dangerously fled from the pursuing officers.”

Around that time, Rio Vista police said additional calls came in reporting a car on State Route 12 that matched the suspect’s vehicle description, driving recklessly near State Route 12 and State Route 113.
