Falcons Looking to Add to Wide Receiver Room in NFL Draft

The NFL Draft is right around the corner. The Atlanta Falcons are looking to add more assets to their wide receiver room.

According to a Falcons Wire article, there are a few wide receivers the Atlanta Falcons may have their eyes on.

“The Atlanta Falcons went into the offseason with little depth at the wide receiver position, and that was before they released Darnell Mooney. The team hasn’t had a decent slot receiver since Ray-Ray McCloud’s 2024 campaign.” Matt Urben wrote in the Falcons Wire article.

The Falcons signed Jahan Dotson and resigned Olamide Zaccheaus. Jahan Dotson finished with 151 total yards last year playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. Zaccheaus finished 2025 with 351 total yards with the Chicago Bears.

Though these two wide receivers are decent, the team could use more wide receiver depth.

Brenan Thompson and Zachariah Branch

Brenan Thompson out of Mississippi State is one of the names that tops the list. Thompson recorded 57 catches, 1,054 yards, and 6 touchdowns.

Thompson showed his explosiveness and speed during the 2025 season. He impressed at the NFL Combine in March.

“Thompson is a clear slot receiver at 5-foot-9, 170 pounds, however, he could be a matchup nightmare as the ultimate motion piece in the NFL. His absurd 4.26 second 40 time at the combine was undeniable proof that he has the type of speed to get behind defenses.” Urben wrote.

Thompson being a downfield threat could open things for Drake London.

Zachariah Branch is one of the more notable names out of the University of Georgia. The twitchy wideout recorded 81 catches, 811 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Branch also showed his blazing speed at the NFL Combine which turned a lot of heads.

“Branch backed up his game tape with a 4.35-second 40 time at the combine. He has enough in the toolbox to succeed as a rookie, but he needs to add more polish to his game to maximize his skill set at the NFL level.” Urben wrote. “While Falcons fans are always going to favor Georgia players in the draft, there’s a lot to like about Branch. He could be a target in Rounds 2-3. Atlanta currently has the 48th and 79th overall picks on Day 2 of the draft.”

De’Zhaun Stribling and Chris Brazzell II

Chris Brazzell II had some great performances in 2025 for the University of Tennessee. Brazzell is one of the more athletic wide receivers with a great body frame. He recorded 61 catches, 1,006 yards, and 9 touchdowns.

“Brazzell is taller than Julio Jones at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds, and recorded a faster 40 time at the combine (4.37 seconds).” Urben wrote.

De’Zhaun Stribling out of Ole Miss recorded 55 catches, 811 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Stribling has great hands and a good frame as well.

“The Rebels standout has a sturdy frame (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) and only recorded one drop last year. After posting back-to-back 800-yard seasons, Stribling is someone who should be on Atlanta’s radar starting in Round 3.”

The Atlanta Falcons will look to be more explosive as the 2026 season nears. In the NFL Draft, they could very well land one of these few wideouts and could have an immediate impact. The wideouts they have in mind are very explosive with tons of big play capabilities.
