Ex-NBA Star Makes Major Joel Embiid Statement After Game 5 vs Celtics

The basketball world was impressed with what the Philadelphia 76ers put on display on Tuesday night in Boston. Behind a big Joel Embiid performance, the Sixers defeated the Celtics with an impressive 113-97 victory.

Embiid led the charge on a solid second-half comeback after the Sixers once trailed by 13 points. It was just his second game back since recovering from surgery.

As the former NBA All-Star Jeff Teague watched through the highlights, the ex-guard had high praise while stating the obvious from the game.

“On everything,” Teague said in agreement with his co-host’s comment about a healthy Embiid having the potential to be the best to do it at the position.

“He can do everything,” Teague added. “…He was doing [Nikola] Vucevic bad.”

In a win-or-go-home setting, Embiid did all he could to get the former.

The star center checked in for 39 minutes. He shot 12-23 from the field and knocked down 9-10 shots from the charity stripe in order to score 33 points.

Embiid also came down with four rebounds, while dishing out eight assists, and blocking one shot.

The Sixers went into the fourth quarter trailing. They ended up flipping the lead for the first time all game in the fourth quarter, and ended up going up by as many as 17 points.

What’s Next For The 76ers?

Embiid has changed the series for the Sixers.

Now, the 76ers have a chance to add another game to the series. Once again, they need to win on Thursday, or pack their bags and get booted from the playoffs.

Barring any sudden setbacks, Embiid should be good to go on Thursday, April 30. The 76ers will soon release their initial injury report. Before heading into Game 5, the star center was listed as probable.
